Five landing page mistakes that
quietly kill conversion
Most underperforming landing pages share the same handful of structural problems. None of them are exotic - they are just easy to miss when you have been staring at the same page for weeks.
1. The headline doesn't match the ad
If someone clicks an ad promising one thing and lands on a page that opens with somethin else, the mismatch creates hesitation right at the moment you need clarity most.
2. Too many competing calls to action
A page offering "Book a Call", "Download the guide" and "Sign up for the newsletter" side by side asks the visitor to make a decision you should have made for them. One primary action per page performs better almost every time.
3. Proof appears too late
Trust signals - testimonials, logos, results - placed only at the bottom of a long page
never get seen by visitors who decide within the first screen.
4. Forms ask for more than they need
Every additional field reduces completion rate. Ask only for what you need to follow up effectively; you can gather the rest later in the conversion.
5. Mobile is treated as an afterthought
When most traffic arrives on a phone, a page that was only checked on desktop is often the single biggest source of lost conversions.
